Any help would be appreciated..............I installed the McGuaghy's 2/4.5 spindle kit a few weeks ago, everything seemed to be fine. Yesterday I noticed a vibration in the rearend at 20-35 mph. I double checked everything yesterday after work and it's all tight. It seems like the rearend is moving around, if I hit the brakes hard you can hear the rearend move and also if I shift to reverse and gas the truck a little bit, you can hear a clunk in the back. Any ideas???? I am getting so aggravated that I almost want to put it back to stock.

As you have stated the housing is probably moving a bit. The vibration is either the result of the loose housing or the pinion angle has shifted. I would get it on up to where you can work on it and see if you find the problem. Look closely at the U bolts are the nuts bottomed out on the threads? This would make them feel tight but still not clamping the axle housing tightly enough to keep it from moving. This should be easy to spot and fix. Good luck...

Has anybody needed to use shims with the flip kit? I should have time tomorrow to see if anything is loose and dive into it more.

I used wedges on a chevy to align the pinion angle. The kit came wit them. I think you just have something that's worked loose. Good luck...

You guys were right! I finally figured out what was wrong (knock on wood) The bottom plate was put on backwards. The two holes just weren't lined up right. Of course, had McGaughy's just sent me some instructions then I wouldn't have had to fuss with it and taken apart the rearend three times. Oh well, sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I will post some pics later, I got my new wheels on Friday and put them on today. By the way, no matter what McGaughy's says, the 17" wheels that I have DO NOT clear the lower balljoint bolt. Trust me!!
