Default Slow Shifts

I wanted to know if the Diablo Sport Predator tuner will cure the relatively slow shift transitions between gears, especially the 1-2 shift. I love the performance of the Hemi, but I feel like it has a lot more potential. When I'm opening the truck up from a dead stop, I've noticed that it just kind of shifts soft into second gear and takes awhile before it starts getting going again in that crucial 2nd gear heading into 60mph+. I've heard some of you guys mentioned the "sponge transmission"....is that the effects, or am I misunderstanding what that actually means?

Yeah, sounds to me like you are describing the "famous" Torque Management. It feels as if the tranny is slipping between gears? Either SC or DSP will take care of this. I don't have any experience with the DSP but I know for a fact the SC will do it. Its like night and day difference in the tranny shifts.

I'm not sure which programmer to set my eyes on though. A lot of people on this forum seem to be split when it comes to the Superchips or the Diablo. Which programmer is going to give me the best balance of power and transmission quickness?

Opinions on tuners constantly sways on this site so I wouldn't go by just other peoples opinions alone. If you get a SC i'm assuming you'll get a 3865 so you'll be buying a new one...same goes for the DSP so the cost will be around the same. Look at both from a hardware point of view and see which one gives you the most for your money. Then find someone that has had both and get an unbias opinion (if you can ) on the difference in the tunes. That's your best bet IMO

sc 3865 is 318 new, diablo is 375. once the new trans updates are released for sc there will be no comparison.

Yes, the DSP will quicken the shifts and properly reprogram the up and down shifts to the way that they should be stock. Mine shifts much better now.
