Front Control Module (FCM)
Hello out there.
I have a 2003 Ram 1500 5.7L 4x4 quadcab here in Texas. I've got ~132,000 miles and I've owned it about 4 years.
when I first started driving it I used the headlights like normal, but I noticed the fog lamps did not illuminate. I found that there was no fog lamp relay installed. A few weeks later I noticed both of my low beams flicker off and on a few times and then they stayed off. I immediately cycled the headlight switch to 'Off' then 'On' and the headlights were back on. The headlights performed fine for a few more weeks, then they did the same thing for a few successive nights. I then replaced the Headlight control switch hoping for an easy fix. I also ordered a fog lamp relay, but it would not arrive until a few days later.
A day or so later the lights did the same thing, but the headlights kept flickering though I cycled the switch. So I pulled the switch toward me as though turning on the fog lamps and the headlights started working normally. A few days later the fog lamp relay arrived. I put in the relay and the fog lights work.
Since then the headlight switch doesn't illuminate the lights it's supposed to always. And I tried reinstalling the original headlight switch, but it acts the same as the new one...
I switch to 'parking lights' and the parking lights and headlights turn on.
I switch to 'headlights' and parking lights stay on, fog lights turn on, and the headlights turn off.
While still switched to 'headlights' if I pull the switch outward, the headlights turn on in addition to the parking lights and fog lights.
So I drive with the switch set to 'headlights' with the fog light on position. And I still regularly have the headlights flicker off and on and sometimes even the fog lights and headlights turn off at the same time which is terrible when I'm driving down a dark highway.
I'm thinking the FCM is faulty or possibly the fuse box. I hadn't read any other posts with all of these issues, so I was hoping somebody might have some insight. It's an intermittent problem, so it's been somewhat difficult for me to diagnose.
Thanks

I don't have headlight issues, but I have a no crank/ no start issue and my scanner won't connect with my PCM. I have a good ground entering my TIPM but when I test grounds in my relay plugs I am not getting a ground or just getting a weak ground. I purchased a used TIPM off of Ebay from truck that was working and running supposedly. Only paid $100 for it. Figured I would try it and hopefully it solves my issue. I was online with a certified Dodge tech and he steered me into buying a new PCM and a new Transmission shifting module (Hemi engine so it has the internal transmission module instead of the cheaper position sensors for the tranny) neither of which did anything but cost me lots of money. I get a hot to my starter motor relay when I turn on my ignition, but as I stated, I have no ground for the relay coil.
I think after I get this other TIPM, I'll open the one in my truck now and check for the corrosion everyone else seems to have encountered.

Resurrecting an old thread in frustration....
2009 3500 6.7 diesel quad cab 4x4 bought a year ago.
Everything works, except the radio keeps losing power. I've posted about the issue here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...adio-fuse.html
and thought I had it fixed, but like Arnie, it's back :-(
Every time I pull the fuse with ignition off and doors closed it resets. There were no visible bad traces, the track/path for the radio fuse metered fine with my DMM.
If this didn't kill my backup cams or bluetooth connection I'd probably give up.
Rather than finding a new keyed power source I'd like to fix the actual problem. So, new PCM??? or does something else control the power to the radio?
Update. I believe the output terminal for the radio in the blue connector under the fusebox is loose/not tight on the blade coming out of the fusebox. As soon as I wiggled the blue connector I got power to the radio again.
A ghetto fix, but I ziptied that wire tight to the fat one next to it.
If it loses power again I'll pop the terminal out of the connector and pinch it more closed.
While everything looked good, a loose terminal may have been the only issue. Hopefully that helps someone else.
