it doesn't really prove anything if you beat him with someones else's truck, it just means you were too sacred to run your truck...

I know a fella with a 7.3 and I took his in my old 5.2, so I say go for it, I think you could take him. And the guy with the 7.3 only had 33's on his, so I say go for it.

Just run him and get it over with. If he gets you off the line don't worry about it the power stroke will shut down before he gets to 100 and you can take over from there.

You would loose.

This is my friend's lifted up Ford F-350 diesel. I remember the first time he took for a drive in his truck and I assumed it was going to be a big slow boat, but I was wrong. He had an AFE intake, dual stacks, and an SCT Tuner, and man did that thing blow some smoke and really take off. At the time I didn't own my Hemi, but remember how I felt moving in his truck, compared to mine, I don't think I'd have a chance from a dig. I bet I'd win from a punch, but definitely not from a green light.

There's only one way to find out I'm not too up on Fords but, I have a bro-in-law with a tuned Duramax and another buddy with a tricked out Cummins and I ain't racing either one of them! That said all you can do is lose,if you catch him sleeping you might have a chance.

Other way around. There are very few diesels with automatics, regardless of make, that can squeal tires. The Hemi, OTOH (along with the new GM vortecs) make some serious grunt. You have a better chance from a dead stop than a roll-on race. Shoot, I loose off the line to many, many cars in my little Shelby Daytona, because my choice is basically either dog it off the line or spin all the way through first gear. I'll catch up, but not until 3rd, where I have a good long pull at full (20 PSI) boost. Turbo vehicles do much better from a roll.

Stock to stock, a Hemi truck will jump away from a diesel off the line. And stock to stock, should be able to keep that lead. However, a chipped diesel will likely catch and pass a hemi truck.

But as others said, only one way to find out.

That's what I was getting at 66deuce,if he catches him sleepin at a stoplight and the guy doesn't have time to build revs to build boost then you might get the jump on him off the line but you better hope it's a short race cuz when that deisel builds boost he will be coming and coming HARD!
