My 07 is stock. What gears are on it now? How easy is it to change them out?
A douche I work with has a 08(?) Silverado, nothing fancy, and swears his programmer gives him an extra 110hp. WTF?! Everyone knows he's full of crap and tries to one-up everyone. I'd like to put him in his place but I really don't have too much experience "racing" trucks. If it were bikes then I know I'd be able to hand it to him.

It gives the Hemi 20rwhp and 20rwtq.

To the OP, You're more than likely going to loose. Even the ford pos can get up to speed relatively quickly. And diesel's can be modded really easy with very little money. If your truck was stock height and had stock size tires so you were not trying to haul around the extra weight you may have a chance, but with the way your truck is set up I have to give the win to the furd. Good luck though

That goes for the lowered trucks as well. Most who do everything they can to get their rig looking the way they want it just go that rout, maybe an exhaust as well but that is nothing major. My philosophy on it is I want my truck to match its look, When I get around to it I'm going to want my truck to look mean as hell BUT I want it's performance to match that look. You can have the sickest looking ride but for me if the performance doesn't match the look then why do it.

First off, he has a 5.7L not a 5.9L. Big power difference right there. So if you jump newer Ferds and diesels, he should be ahead of them as well as ahead of you. 5.7L vs 5.9L = 240hp vs 345hp and 330tq vs 375tq.
I'm not sure what gears this guy in a 2nd gen had with his 5.9L but I completely annihilated him with my 3:92's w/20" tires with my '08 Hemi.

this thread is giving the diesel a little bit more credit than it deserves, and the hemi a little less.
Yes diesels have monster torque. yes they make it down low, and yes a programmer adds a lot of hp. but after the launch, that hemi makes a damn good bit of hp. if you launches right you'll be into your torque band aftre the first 10 ft, and then its a hp race. if his programmer did add 100 hp (which is possible) then you might get wipped, but with all the added weight i wouldn't be surprised if you took him.
