Default Another Plug wire question

Ok, I have done a search, and I still don't have a solid answer.

Plug Wires. Long or Short. For a 04 Hemi????
I read a few years ago that the shorties loose 2hp compared to the long ones.

The thing is I ordered the long ones, but got sent the short ones.

I figured dodge put the cross wires on for a reason, and I will stick to it. But I have shorty wires and thinking whether or not to return them and get the ones I ordered.

So with any real proof of which wires do the best job, please no opinions, I want some facts. Dyno's work, but what ever info you have would help. Thanks.

..if your lightly performance modded (and not spraying).. shorty wires will work fine... I ran them for a long while in my 05 before I did some heavy modding on my hemi..

The shorty wires are just like the 2006 and up setup. Any hemi newer than 06 just has twin plug coils for both versions (the 6.1's NEVER had the octopus setup). The spaghetti mess was strictly for emissions, and I guess it took them 3 model years (03-05) to figure out that it didn't really matter because they did away with it altogether.

I went with the Long wires, just bumped them up the 8.5mm's. I had the same questions as you when I was going to buy my wires, Which are the best? Well I had my questions answered on another forum(which will remain nameless in open forum) shoot me a pm and I'll give you the name, but this forum is made up of Performance shop Owners and mechanics. I did a search on there for "shorty wires" and found my answer right away. Like said before, as long as your going to stay stock or lightly modded then the shorties are ok. I went with the long ones so I wouldn't have to change them later on down the road.

Wow and were a bit dirty in that picture. It was after some winter weather and the roads had been salted. Much cleaner now!!

I'd take your setup in a heartbeat. I'd rather have straight coils than a coil with a plug wire.
