New Member/Ram Owner....

I purchased this 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Hemi back in July. It was a company truck that had ~42k miles. Few options (which I like), 2WD, standard cab, long bed. Except for the color and lack of towing package, this is exactly what I would have ordered if I had gone with a new truck.

I bought it in North Texas and there is some minor hail damage (didn't even notice it till it was pointed out to me - one good thing about white!). That, combined with the relatively high mileage and lack of options made for a HECK of a deal I couldn't pass up! I would have stayed with a small truck (I like the gas mileage), but needed something to haul a race car with, and this should easily fit the bill. I just put a hitch on today, and should be getting a new trailer within a week or so. I had previously towed the same setup with a 98 Expedition that had a SOHC, 230 HP 2V 4.6, so I am not worried about how this one will tow!
I did already ask a wiring question for anybody that has knowledge of that sort of thing.
I have few other plans for the truck, though I will likely add some exhaust modifications in the not-to-distant future. Being a Mustang guy, I'm a fan of true duals, so my intent is to eventually put headers mated to some sort of catted X-pipe and a decent catback (louder than stock, but not obnoxious). This is my first foray into a vehicle with an electronically-controlled automatic transmission, and from my readings here, have seen that there are a few tuning tools out there that will give me some control of those functions - something else I'll likely do in the short-term. For each of my mods, I'm not after power so much as I'm after efficiency. Yes, I know you don't buy these trucks for mpg, but I do want to optimize that as much as possible.
Anyway, definately lots and lots of good info here - its a pleasure to be a member! (even if I do have to be a "newbie" for a while
