Truck won't Idle Help
I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 5.7L 90,000 miles that will not start unless gas pedal is pressed and it won't idle it just turns off and the engine shakes too. I changed the O2 sensors($100) because that is what the check engine light was telling me. I cleaned the throttle body butterfly plate (it was pretty gunked up). I replaced the EGR valve($50). I'm thinking I may have to replace the throttle body. I wanted to check the IAC but I believe the IAC sensor is part of the throttle body. I have a friend tell my that it may be the Catalytic Convert and that it may be clog? How can I tell if that is the case? The exhast does smell pretty lean when it starts.

oic you didint get anymore answers....anyways i dont think the 5.7 has an IAC its a fly by wire system meaning the comp controls idle instead of a vacuum controlled idle, i think....right direction in cleaning the TB tho, mine idled kinda funny sounded like it was missing...it was cuz the TB was gunked and wasent getting enough air
if you think your cats clogged the motor will run with the manifold flanges undone....the ones that connect the mani to the rest of the exhaust.....itll run like crap but you can at least troubleshoot, see if it idles...
I just removed the front O2 sensors and started the truck and it start no problem and idles(like crap) but it idles.
