Default 2006 1500 4x4 5.7l towing

hi there just got a 2006 ram 1500 4x4 sport with the mds, i live in vancouver b.c canada and i am driving down to las vegas wich is 2200km each way and my question is that i will be towing a enclosed cargo trailer with a harley in the back, the whole thing is only going to way around 3000lbs, the truck is totaly stock i am just wondering if there are any tips or precautions i should take on a long haul like this even though it is not a lot of weight, like is it going to be hard on the truck towing for hours on end like that, is the trans cooler sufficient? should i take breaks or run at certain speeds? use a certain octane i currently run 89. anyway any tips or help would be appreciated.

you should be perfectly fine as is. though i dont have a ram, but a dakota 4.7, i pulled 3200 900 miles each way without stopping, except for food and bathroom twice, and WITHOUT TRAILER BRAKES, it handled exceptionally well. you have no worries!

Nothing except for regular stuff you do when towing. Make sure all equipment is hooked right lights working. Trailer bearing's greased, tires properly inflated and so on.

3000 lbs should be an effortless load for your truck. I have an '02 4.7 that has pulled that with no problem.

they are talking about an electric fan. it replaces the stock clutch fan which runs off the engine and takes up a few hp.

You won't even notice that trailer behind you much. You'll be fine.
