on the 5.9 and the 5.2 throttle bodies he goes all the way to increase flow all the way through and gets a larger butterfly valve, I know because I had a 50mm throttle body from him for my old 5.2 and it was opened up all the way through. He did a great job on that one and I will definitely be getting the 52 for my 5.9 as soon as I feel like my pickup is ready for it.

So from his email:

1) The kinfe edge does not work with everyones TB and can throw codes for one reason or another. Does anyone know how much it increases the sensativity of the throttle over one that does not have the knife edge?

2) From the sounds of it, I have to either send him my core (which unfortunately I cannot have my truck down for that long) or I have to get one from the dealer for $100 and send it to him. Are TB's really only $100 from the dealer? Also doesn't sound like there is a core charge either since he cant do one without me sending him one.
You don't need to supply your own if you want a new TB. He will purchase it for you for that price. I doubt we could even get one from the dealer for anywhere near that!

no, i was just confused cuz you brought up nasa rockets to relate them to TBs, then said 'my TB isn't like the nasa rocket'...and yes YOUR TRUCK is awesome, lol

i bet it throws a code on some trucks and not others because his process isn't well controlled. And if he only tapers the front end of it, you might as well just use a dremel.

How readily available are the parts for the TB? Like the plate and bar inside? I was doing a lot of reading on it last night and found a few DIY's so I'm thinking of trying it out myself. It really doesn't seem to be to hard to do at all. Only thing would be getting it even all around and figuring out what size to dremel it out to. Would it be worth it to try it myself? Any tips from guys that have done it them selves?
