I'm not very experienced w/ wiring custom stuff like this on a vehicle so I just followed the directions from that link I gave you using the parts listed. Sounds like everything is moving along, mounting the fan in the shroud was the most frustrating part for me. The e-fan is the only mod I've seen a real increase in mpg from so it's worth the effort.

I was moving along smoothly till I had it all hooked up. Got nothing.

I don't have an amperage meter but it seems that my ignition controlled wire has no power. Or maybe it just some random wire I thought would work.

Here's my basic scematic I drew up just now.

Heres a question,
Does the temp controller have it's own relay? If so, Having the other relay is redundant and this may be causing your problem. Are you sure the relay is wired correct, Can you here it engage? Jump the control side to get it to engage.

A note, You should make sure both sides of the relay are fused. Not a problem for the control side if you are running off the cigaret lighter, However, you should put a fuse on the Load side also, Even if it is just a fusible link.

As a side note, I realize my spelling is horrible, I have had way to much beer tonight.

I used a probe type controller on my Mustang that I got from PepBoys. Made by Hayden I believe.
It has it's own relay in the controller and works fine. I powered mine thru a key on only fuse in my fuse box (blower motor) and put a 10 amp inline fuse in this wire which is just a trigger voltage for the system.
The fan power comes straight off of the battery and is protected by an inline circuit breaker. Should be at least 40amp in this circuit to cover start-up amp draw.

The controller needs to be wired to the battery as well. Also which wire did you tap into as the ignition source and where did you tap into it?

Have you tested the fan to make sure it runs just by putting the positive and negative wires on the battery?

How are you going about setting the temp for the controller to come on, make sure the controller is turned to the min. temp. and then run the truck until the t-stat opens and it should turn on if all the wiring is correct.

I tapped a pink/yellow wire that comes from under the battery and goes through the firewall above the brake fluid. If it's hooked to the battery and controller through the same wire wouldn't it stay on after the key is off?

lxman, how do you wire up something from the fuse box. Did you tap a wire from underneath it?

ramman, I will do that come wednesday when I can get back to it. I don't think it has it's own relay so I here's a pic of it. its the flexalite/hayden on from napa.

Ok that is the same wire I used, but there are 2 of them and one doesn't seem to be on w/ the ignition b/c that was the first one I tapped into and it didn't work. Before you tap into the other pink and yellow wire make sure everything else is wired correctly b.c you might already be tapped into the right one. Compare the wiring diagram you posted to this one
the controller needs to be wired to the battery which your diagram doesn't show. You also should have a fuse in between the controller/relay and the battery as shown in the above diagram. Do you know that the fan works? BTW your controller is rated at 20 amps according to flex-a-lite's site, I assume it has a 20 amp relay built into it.

The controller I am using only has two male prongs. So I wouldn't be able to use the pink/yellow wire(acc/ign on) and a wire from from the battery. It's very different from the one from the diagram. If I did I would have no more places on the controller to connect it to the relay I am using. Do I even need the relay if the controller has one?

when I get back to it this week I am going to get one circuit breakers. For between the 12v and the relay.

My main confusion with most diagrams I see is that they have three male connectors and this one has two.

the fan does work.
