lighted squares around PRND321

Default lighted squares around PRND321

not sure how well that gives you guys a picture of my question or not, but sometimes, not always, i get lighted squares or outlines around each individual PRND321.... can anyone tell me what this means?

It means that you are in that 'gear'...i.e. if you are in reverse, the R should have a square around it.

i guess i didn't explain myself enough......

they are sometimes ALL lit up.....squares around EACH letter and number ALL at the SAME time....

Mine did that when I was uploading tunes from the programmer but never by itself. Sounds like a PCM issue, the truck still runs fine though right? BTW what is a K7 1500? K is usually an abbreviation for 1,000 but it would still need a number as in 2K=2,000. Unless K=200 in some weird way.

yes, truck still runs fine.... just something odd i have seen a few times.....usually when it's in park, pulling it into drive usually makes them go out..

i say k7 as in 2007..... a motorcycle board i am a member of always uses it for model year... as in K8 suzuki 650 i figured everyone did it......

Yep....mine only does that when im screwing around with the pcm with my tuner....sounds like a pcm issue....

is that covered under warranty? since it doesn't do it all the time, would you guys just drive it? or get it to the stealers asap ?

I would just drive it. if it only does it in park, it might just be a startup thing. Are you noticing it right when you turn the key? the stealership is going to charge you a diagnostic fee, and once they got it they'll try their damndest to keep it.

no, i can drive it short distance, put it in park, and they all light up..... but like i said, it's not always...and not always common.... guess i'll let it go for now......
