May I ask what you don't like about it?

I have driven a few 4.7 ram's and I never thought they were that bad. I have even towed with a 4.7 ram once and thought it towed pretty good. The 4.7 engine in itself isn't that bad of an engine.

u realize that ur 4.7L from the 08 model year is only 35 hp shy of the hemi... stock to stock you truly can't tell just from driving it which one is which. the "butt" dyno isn't sensitive to such a small difference in power. Now the previous model years of the 4.7L where the power difference was well over 100 hp that's a pretty big difference that you could easily be able to tell. If you truly hate the 4.7 that much then you really arn't going to be that impressed with the hemi either. The only nice thing would be you have more cheap easy mods for the hemi. not as many programmers and easy bolt on's available for the 4.7L but IMO the bolt ons and programmers while they will help they don't add tremendous amounts of power where a truck that you feel is a dog is gonna be a freakin speed demon.. sounds like you bought the truck wanting it to be like a racecar or something.

You should trade your 08 4.7 for a 03 5.7, lol.

Really I haven't driven any of the new 07+ 4.7's. I didn't really realize that much difference from the 03 and 05 4.7 compared to my 05 5.7. But then again I was and still am kinda dissapointed with my 5.7. Especially after driving my friend tuned CTD from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ozark, Mo and back. One way towing a 7K lb trailer and having troubles remebering it was back there. Damn that thing pulled hard.

without a doubt the CTD puts everything to shame. you want something you can mod... how about a programmer to add 100 or more hp and 200 lbft of torque at the push of a button.. that's the bitchin part about diesels. any of them for that matter. duramax or 7.3 powerstroke (we won't talk about the 6.0 an 6.4 lol).

and yea the 4.7 for the 08 model really just got a new set of cylinder heads that upped the compression ratio as well as better flow and the cam profiles are more aggressive than the previous models. at least that's what i read when google searching and from allpar I love mine but I have a regular cab and the getrag 238 six speed so i don't really have a lot of drivetrain loss like a auto trans truck will. just the nature of a stock transmission.

Without a doubt the hemi has more power than the 4.7 but for an 08 model i'm not arguing that but most i think could agree that the minute 35 hp difference is fairly insignificant. especially if it's a 4.7 coupled to the six speed manual to a hemi auto

How many miles? Still under bumper to bumper warranty? take it to the dealer and tell them it's down on power. Might have a problem

08 4.7L upgrades over 07-back
1) New camshaft design
2)Stronger Camshafts
3)Dual mass vibration damper
4)dual spark plug design. top 8 are copper core(30K replacement), lowers are platiunum (100K replacement)
5)Better fuel calibration (same as the Hemi now)
6)Modified exhaust manifolds (better flow)
7)Forged steel connecting rods
8)Floating piston pins
9)better exhaust manifold gaskets with heat shields
10)improved EGR system
11)Flex fuel capable.
12)Increased compression ratio (9.8:1)
13 Better flowing cylinder heads

4.7L 5.7L
310hp@5650rpm 345hp@5650rpm
330lb.ft@3950rpm 375lb/ft@4200rpm

only 35hp less than the Hemi
only 45lb/ft less than the Hemi
