06 dodge hemi computer

Default 06 dodge hemi computer

i was wondering if i can swap in a 2007 1500 hemi ecm into my 06 1500 hemi?
are they interchangeable thru 2006-2008?

pretty sure you would need a dealer to re-program since the ecu and speedometer cluster won't match up. They need to comunicate to each other before you can start the vehicle.

They are, but the operate on a diff. frequency.

I'll try to explain it simply.

Your key has a chip inside of it. When you insert it into the ignition it sends a specific rf frequency to the cluster. Then the cluster sends that frequency to the ecu, thus is why i said a dealer would need to "sync" everything together. i don't think your ecu would recognize your cluster or your programmed key as it's all about theft deterrent.

so i could get the o7 ecu install it, and if it didntwork i could get dodge to reflash the ecu? would it still be 07 prgramming?

ive worked on alot of hemi rams, and rebuilt alot of the motors, and i cant find the reason why a edge evolution will not program the 06 or 08, except for possibly the calibration in the ecm probably.
