suspension!!! need advice or suggestions

Default suspension!!! need advice or suggestions

ok so i lowered my 2005 evernham edition hemi 4 in the front and 8 in the back, with stock rims and tires. when i went over bumps my tires hit the outside of my wheel wells and tore chunks of the tire out. so i removed the shackles and raised the back up 2 inches so she is at 4/6 now. so now the question. i an puting 22's on it next month but i want to put it back to 8 inches so ill need to make the tires tuck into the wheel wells. i already cut the wheel wells out and its still going to rub. (it has fender flairs on it as well.) do i just get a wheel with no offset? any help would be great. thanks

More skinny tires? What size tires are you running anyway? Can you cut the lip of the tire well fenders?

sounds like the wheel offset/backspacing needs to be changed.

diff offset narrower tire and like they said clip the lip....this should be moved to lowered section

I have a 3/5 drop with 305/40r22 in the rear and I have never been close to rubbing the fender. Check the offset and if you have flares (assuming they are bolt on) roll the fender lip so that the tire will hit it and not get torn up. If you are already cutting, cut the fender the flares will cover the cut and may give you an inch or so extra.

yes i already cut the fender and still rubs. ive got the stock 20 on it now but when i get the 22's its still gunna do the same thing and im not ruining another set of tires. thanks for you help

Tub it, bag it, 4 link it and narrow your rear end. If you want to lower it with big rims you gotta do more than bolt ons and a few snips. Another way to avoid rubbing is to roll the inside lip of the fender to avoid it cutting into the tire like a knife, find a local car club with lowered trucks and they'll be able to help you out a lot. Another thing, if you drive without inner rear fenders, so the tires are coming thru the holes in the bed, you'll never be able to keep that truck clean and you won't see nothing behind you when it's raining.

yeah i already c notched the frame. not going to tub it as of right now. just need those 2 inches back.
