Default Did Franks Racing close after I ordered my Sidewinder??

So back around the last week of Sept I ordered a Sidewinder cam from Franks Racing and a few days later (9-30-09) I get a call from Steve saying cam sticks were on back order and would be in on the 2nd, then get grinded and sent to him a few days later and then sent out to me.

Ok so a few days go by and nothing so i sent an email out last week to Steve for a order status and no email back. So them I call today and guess what? The number is disconnected. Whats got me concerned is I talked to Stu the other day and he said he heard rumors about them going out of business and to be careful. Well it might be too late.

Anyone got any more contact info on these guys other than this. Im not worried about the funds as I paid with a CC and am protected by the financial institution but I would rather a business NOT do such things and I would rather have my cam

BTW, this link is an MP3 from Steves' voicemail msg.

Could also be that they are out of cams / blanks and they are waiting. But with no responce from anyone and a disconnected line it doesn't look to good, may have to go track them down or look up the owners info and find a home number to call. That sucks man.

That's terrible. Companies like that try to take advatadge of people by hoping they don't dispute their credit card charges. I know that wont happen with you!
Keep us informed.

Man, that sucks. FRI grinds good cams, that sidewinder is the cam that I wanted to get. It is a strong cam for the heavier trucks.

Well I had two local numbers for them I had found last night and I called both just a few mins ago and BOTH are disconnected. So if looks like they have closed shop and ran IMO.

Some people have said they are moving shops but companies that do that dont have ALL of their phone lines disconnected and not respond to ANY emails.

Ive emailed 4 different guys at FRI

[UPDATE]

Last night at about 2am I got an email from Steve from a personal email address another member gave me. Here it is.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
not out of biz. downsized the shop. no installs is all.
cams will be shipping soon. i will contact comp cams about that today.
i have not billed anyone out yet either so u should still be fine on ur cc.

ill get everyones order filled real soon.

steve
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now look, IDK whats going on but let me say this, a company that downsizes doesnt disconnect ALL of thier numbers (at least 4 that I know of).

And out of four or five people with the domain name email address of "thehemisource.com", NO ONE answers thier company mail. And yes I have emailed.

That to me desnt sound like a company is in business but being Im not there, IDK and can only assume off of what i see.

On top of that, this was ordered back on 9-23-09, if there were any issues or delays then I should have been made aware of it long before now. Thank God I dont have my block on the stand waiting on a cam.

Anyway, I did check my CC this morning and nothing is posted to it so I went ahead and had them change my CC numbers. I know when to quit when i am ahead.

Good idea quitting while you are ahead. If you get any more info about FRI let me know. I wanted to get my cam from them but if this is going to be an ongoing problem I will start looking elsewhere.
