I've thought about this myself recently as I would really like a lifetime warranty. However, I've come to realize I do not want another Dodge even if it does have a lifetime warranty. Seems like a lot of times warranties find a reason why your problem isn't covered. This isn't something I want to deal with on something that has problems as often as a Dodge. Plus I realized my truck isn't my DD and I don't really need it so if I sell it that's great. If It doesn't sell I will keep it to hunt on, take offroad slightly, etc. That way when it gets scratched or dinged it's not a new truck. I wouldn't want to do any of that with a new truck. I guess I've realized I'd rather have a good daily driver and then a truck like mine or similar. I don't need a brand new truck too as I don't want to use it like a car anymore. Plus the Accord that's my DD gets way better gas mileage, is way faster, and basically just a way nicer vehicle that's a lot more reliable than the truck ever is or will be. So I've decided I'm just going to keep a decent car. The Accord is a 06 so I wouldn't mind upgrading that sometime soon. The only reason I haven't is I don't like the new ones enough to warrant the price of them yet. Maybe next re design I will like them more. I want a manual transmission with the V6 in a 4 door again and they no longer offer that.
I see how you said your family is tired of paying expensive repair bills on your older vehicles. Doesn't your family mostly own Ford's and Dodges? I think that may be the problem right there. Every "American" vehicle I've owned has a needed expensive repair bills and just been a headache all around. Compared to Honda's which I've owned and while they have had problems they have lasted a lot longer with a lot less problems. Our 96 Accord has over 250k miles and has a slight oil leak. Other than that it's still a pretty solid car. It's had a few front axles put in, a couple exhausts but that's because they got torn up on a rough mountain road we had to travel often. It's had several sets of brakes, and a few other odd and ends things. That's not that much in my book.
I've realized I don't need a warranty quite as much as long as I go with a reliable car like Honda or Toyota. Where I really need it is if I'm going to get an "American" made car or truck.

That is one other thing to think about also. It's not just where you can do whatever maint. whenever and wherever you want. So it ends up costing you for that too.
I've carefully listended and considered many of your opinions and advice and at the moment I have decided to keep my truck. After going over numbers with them, it's just too much. Had they accepted my offer I probably would have gotten myself to do it, but I did not want to be pushing buttons to get into one only to have to push buttons to make payments. I could afford one of the '07s they are selling but they are too minimal of an upgrade for me to go through the hassle to get into one of those. The '09s were intriguing because for one they are brand new, and for two they are almost completely a different truck and a more powerful hemi motor. So as it stands now I am staying with my truck. I got it for a good deal, it's warrantied, it has low miles, and I've already put over $4,000 of extras into it. Unless they call me back with some kind of shocking price for me, I will not be getting into an '09. There is a chance my brother may be though. He's trying to sell his F350 (which he has completely restored and put over $60k into over the last three years for repairs, rebuilds, and modifying) and his 2005 Honda Accord with 38,000 miles. He is looking to just square up with his loan on the Accord, but whatever he makes on the F350 will be all cash he can put towards a new truck. He will be in my position back in April only he wants a new truck; I settled for a used truck with low miles to keep the payments down.
