Overhead wacked out
My overhead computer thing has been giving me some problems lately. First i noticed that the gas mileage would reset every time i shut the truck off, now the temp readout says 130*F... it snowed today so I dont think its that hot out
Is there a memory fuse like a stereo has? I dont think its a wire because it seems to be getting power just fine...
any idears?

It is controlled by the PCM. You might do the unhooking the battery for 1/2 hr with the head lights turned on (helps drain any remaining power in the memory circuit) and see if it helps.
controlled by the PCM 'ey? it just started acting up after i reset the PCM...
tomorrow i will try the battery trick, and if that doesnt work i will reset the PCM again.
thanks

Yep. Did you notice that the display goes to -- when programming a tune? Mine does with my DSP. The PCM uses the sensor it to determine ambient air temp. The display is just a driver bonus
yess, it does that when i program with my sc too. i know its just a driver bonus, but im kinda **** about stuff like that... but im not gunna tear stuff apart to diagnose it
No. I look at mine all of the time. I would want it fixed too. It's just a driver bonus as in since the PCM uses ambient temp in it's calculations, why not add a display in the cab?
Hope it fixes it. I never realized how much I look at mine until I drive something without it
