Default Finally Got A System!

FINALLY got a system. I have the alpine ida-x305 with the alpine headunit powerpack, 2 Alpine Type R 10's and a Lanzar 2400 Watt Amp. The subs are In a ported fox box's I believe (found it on ebay, looks like one of the old ones). It sounds AMAZING. I never thought a truck like this would really boom, but it sure does! People think I'm lying when I say I have 2 10's. Next is on the list is 6x9's of some sort and 6x5's of some sort. But as for now the Infinity speakers are doing pretty good. I will be posting pictures soon

you will definetly be amazed when you add all new door speakers. Just AMP them, don't power them with the head unit. Also, do what i was too cheap to do and put in components in the front.

Components are individual woofers and tweets. harder to install, but sound better as long as your buying High end quality. By high end, I mean $600+ like Focal, Morel, Dynaudio, Rainbow...etc. If you plan on spending $80 for a pair of speakers, just buy normal 6x9's and they will sound the same as components of the same for most guys. Components of the same speaker type generally cost more. they do have better twets, BUT if you have a so-so amp...You'll never know the difference.
The best thing for you to do is just leave the rear speakers alone and buy the best front door speakers you can afford and power those with an amp. leave the rear speakers running off of the head unit for "rear fill". 1 pair of really nice front speakers will way outperform 2 so-so speakers all the way around.
There's a reason why audio fanatics that do shows and sound-offs run only front speakers. I was running just one set of 6.5" MB Quart components up front for the past year with nothing in the rear doors. it was a perfect soundstage and blew your ears off. No static or distortion although i have really nice stuff so it's hard to compare to others that aren't in the audio scene as much as I am.
The Polk Audio db691 for the price are awesome. i sold my high end MB's for a good chunk of change and downgraded. I tried to sell them at one point, but then no one bit and I stuck them back in my truck. You can prob. find a pair for under $100 online.

I know I added 6.5s coax Kickers in my front and rear doors and love them. They sound very good. Got them on ebay for both pair BNIB and shipped for i think $90

Congrats on the system

Bought the Alpine head unit ida-x305 and also bought the alpine head unit amplifier for it (boost the headunit output by like 150% or something like that). The only thing I dont like about this headunit is that it doesnt have a cd player.. I didnt know it till I bought it.. Lol.. Takes ipods and flash drives.. Since My ipod touch is broken and gotta find a way to fix it im playing music from my usb flashdrive, pretty weird I know.. But You can buy a CD player for it though..

Max Pro 2400 Watt Lanzar amp. (HUGE AMP)and it also comes with a bass controller which comes in handy. I didn't think it was so long. It barley fit under my Passenger seat. But it looks good you hardly notice its there. But easy to adjust and blue lighting on it looks cool. Its velcroed to the floor and doesn't move no were.

Got this old ported fox box used off ebay. Sorry the box is kind of dirty.. I didnt care about cleaning it when I got it I just cared about installing it in my truck lol. I've ordered one of the new fox box's but I have no idea when there being shipped out. Or done. But as of now these subs sound amazing!

those are nice subs, i heard qc with beat and they sound really clean from outside. i just added another sub n amp in my truck. got 2 12s n bed and another 12 inside cab. it still doesnt sound like what i want it too, inside or out :/

i put my subs in my sister car to see what they would sound like in a car setup, and it was way better then what i was getting out of them in the truck
