So I did an E-fan mod last night...
From your original post you said your fan came from an SHO taurus which don't have the same fans as the 3.8 taurus, so your fan may just be a single speed fan. It should not be an issue as long as it moves enough air to keep your engine cool. I would only hook up one of those wires and the ground wire for the fan.

I looked at it an there is for sure only TWO wires comin out of the fan motor... One black for ground, and one red one that splits into two wires. Both of those wires run the fan the same speed if run individually.... if hooked them up together you think it would run it at a higher speed or just f*ck my wiring and possibly the fan???
The same statement goes to both of you. 2500 cfm is sufficient most of the time, but not 100% of driving conditions. As mentioned before, if you're ever gonna do any towing or stop/go in hot weather, either stick with the clutch fan or get the 2-speed fan from a 3.8L taurus.

a simple search on ebay "3.8L taurus fan" brings up about 50 to choose from. <$50 for used, or $80-$100 for new. Id personally get a new one... MUCH more reliable (i learned the hard way)

30 on low, 50 on high from what i heard. startup is near 100 amps for a split second then it cools to 30 immediately.

Damn... yeah, i'm gonna grab a new one in a bit. All the wiring is done already, all i'd have to do is modify the mounting brackets and connect the wires to the new fan. I am however running up over the hill on friday with this fan... we'll see how it does. But i'm going to for sure pick up a brand new 3.8L fan. I'm mad, cause when I got this one there was a tarus right next to it with a good fan in it as well, and I figured the SHO would be a better performing fan, didn't know the SHO's were only 3.0L. Oh well, live and learn I guess.
So here's some pics for anyone that may be interested. Like said previously, it will eventually be swapped for a NEW 3.8L high/low fan... but it will essentially look the same, factory... minus a few wires on the driver's side, they are now fully wrapped in electrical tape and tucked down better.

And the wires going into the fan... see, only two = [

You can get the flex-a-lite 180 kit from moesperformance or airram, I think moes has it for 260 once you add it to your cart. The 180 kit comes w/ everything you need, otherwise you can go junkyard fan and do it for about 130. Here is a link to the parts and wiring I used on mine http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...cfan/index.php.
