Default Enterprise finally got me in a good rental vehicle!

Well, they're still repairing my truck from the accident. Will be another 3 weeks. For those that haven't read about it:

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...m-sad-day.html

Enterprise originally gave me a Toyota Tundra to drive but something was wrong with the brakes after the 2nd day and I took it back. The only vehicle they had on the lot at that time was a Cadillac SRX, so they gave it to me, however with what I do for work, and remodeling and moving into another house, I was in need of a pickup. Enterprise finally called me today and told me they had a truck on the lot and I could come switch out the Caddy for it. To my surprise, sitting on the lot was a shiny newish 09 Ram, 4.7 SLT Quad Cab. I've put about 70 miles on it today, and I must say I love the way the 4th Gen trucks ride. Completely different truck. Also I'm quite impressed with the 4.7 engine. She kicks hard and could probably give my Hemi a run for it's money. I'm going to watch gas mileage closely, I might be seeing a 4th Gen 4.7 in my future....

at first i couldnt stand them but after seeing a few in person they are ok. I still think 3rdgen rams are the best looking overall. One thing I will say 09's look bad *** slammed, lifted however, is another story IMO.

I've seen 4th gens done right that look pretty sweet and I've seen some that look cheap and downright ugly,it seems like the little things make a huge difference on those trucks, I would like the extra power they get out of the new hemi !

Love the look of the 4th gen rams. But it does seem like a lot of people either love it or hate it. Not a lot who fall in between

The interior is much nicer than the 3rd gen. Both look sweet to me on the outside. I like the factory dual exhaust and more powerful Hemi in the 09. I'll be keeping my 08 until the wheels fall off or it gets totaled.

I work for enterprise and we have a couple 08's left, plus 09 and 10's (hemis) the 09 and 10's ride and handle awsome and the hemis really go.

I do like the new 4th Gen's, but I've been pricing them compared to the Tundra's and unfortunately the Ram's are just more expensive than a comparable Tundra. The lifetime warranty would keep me with Dodge simply because of how many miles I do put on a vehicle, but finding a new 09 in my area has been tough, and the dealers are coming off the price of 2010's more than the 09's they have left b/c of that reason.

Tundra's resale value, and Toyota's known history for making cars/trucks that last forever has me leaning more toward them. Not to mention their new 4.6L w/6-Speed tranny that owners are saying can get 22-24 MPG's on the highway easy. Plus I know someone on the Toyota lot in town, and they've given me some decent price quotes on what they currently have on the lot. I still have a while to make a decision as my truck won't be back to me for a few more weeks.... Decisions...
