Default Question about HP and stuff.

Ok, so as everyone knows I'm thinking of doing the 7.0L Hemi swap. With that being said, would it even be possible to get enough hp out of this small 4.7L to run down those modded lightnings, and SRT-10 Rams? Keeping it N/A too. LOL, is this even possible? I know Nick is bound to give me some kind of reply. LOL. So, guys what's your take on it? I can get that 7.0L for something like 6 or 7K, so with that price in mind and knowing that that motor makes over 550hp. To get that kind of numbers out of this 4.7L could it be done for 6-7K or less? Or would it just make more sense to get the 7.0L and mod it?

LOL. I knew someone was gonna say that. I know that Nick has a lot of parts for this 4.7L, but I don't think all the performance parts in the world, aside from making boost, is gonna get this engine where I want/need it to be.

Will the swap void your emissions standards/laws? Why don't you want to go with forced induction? Also you may want to put some money in the budget for a trans upgrade.

I'm already thinking of all the OTHER upgrades I need to do. Just wanted to know about either doing the swap or doing the 4.7L that I have. Which would be more economical. Or would it even be possible to get that power out of my engine?

I don't wanna do forced induction unless I have to with my engine. With the 7.0L everything's an option, forced induction, nitrous. The compression's low enough on that motor to add boost and is strong enough internally for nitrous.

Boost or power adders on the 4.7 can get you a lot of HP but plays heck with the drivability and reliability. One of the truest sayings I have heard regarding hotrodding is simply "there is no substitute for cubic inches". Good Luck either way and have fun.

"There is no replacement for displacement." LOL. N, yes that's true. But take a huge displacement engine and add boost. Watch out then, you'll have a beast. The NHRA Top Fuel Dragsters run only 500 c.i. motors with 1471, or 1671 Blowers. N they make something like 8000 hp. So, yes displacement counts but to a certain extent. LOL.

I personally think for the amount of money your going to spend to get the small block to put out that much power, you might as well drop the big block in her. I personally would be afraid to drop all that money into the engine and have it grenade on me.
