There is one advantage to an auto. When I get lazy and slip the clutch and hit gears and everyone around turns and looks. That'll hurt the pride.

I do love a manual, but for the sake of being practical (wife cant drive it), until I can afford a project that only I will drive I am sentenced to autos. I drove my previous manual transmissioned F150 169,000 miles before I traded it in on my wifes 2005 F150. Leaving the dealership with it, I inadvertently pressed the break with my left foot locking up the brakes. That drew some embarrassing attention.

i love having a manual.. a truck isnt a truck if it aint a manual! although i do want to kill myself in bumper to bumper traffic- or leaving concerts. gotta love it for towing and hauling though!

Thats about the worst part. Stop and go traffic. My first truck was a 93 ford ranger, 2.3 5 speed. I remember when I was 16 and just had started driving I killed it in traffic. Oh good times.
