Default My truck feels boggy

I can't tell if I have just taken my hemi motor for granted or not, but I feel like my motor just bogs a lot for an engine that has had so much hype for being fast. It feels like my truck will just bog before it has to kick down a gear to get up hills or to midly accelerate more. It also feels like my transmission isn't shifting as smoothly between gears as it should be. When it shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 they kind of shift hard into the next gear and I can feel the engine have to restart the powerband for each gear. I don't want it to sound like my truck is broken but I'm just trying to describe what I'm feeling from driving it everyday. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely quicker than any chevy of ford I've driven before, but I feel like my motor has a lot more potential. It is always powerful at full throttle, but it seems to have poor throttle response with just daily driving. I desperately want longtube headers, a cold air intake, and a diablo tuner....but money is tight.

When was the last time the fluid and filter was changed on the tranny? Have you tried doing a tuneup on her and see if that fixes anything?

The truck has 36,000 miles on it and has yet to been serviced (I thought this was at 50,000?). And for the tune-up, it was just had the 30,000 mile tune-up from the service and it didn't seem to make a difference to the vehicle.

First go check your receipt from the dealer and see what all they did for your tune up, the big ones they should have done at 30k are plugs and the diff. If they did not do those then go back and get them done or do it yourself.

Next, since you said that $$$ is tight at the moment, go spend $50-$60 and make your own CAI, there has been a few nice looking ones floating around here that have come out of doing it like that, and go grab one of the older superchips flashpaqs. The 3815 flashpaq is a great tuner and for what you have right now that is ALL you need. You can buy them CHEAP right now too since everyone is switching over to the newer version with the updated software.

After all that your truck should have quite a bit more pep to it than what you have now, and should really only cost you around $250 if not cheaper for the performance parts.

Good pointers guys. I would be just dandy with a flashpaq and a cheaper cold air intake (although I would like the volant because it looks most factory).

In regards to the differential and transfer case servicing, I keep getting different mileage intervals from shops. The dealership says that the transmission was supposed to be serviced at 30,000 and the differentials were supposed to be serviced at 15-20k miles. Then I called a transmission shop and he said the differentials and transfer case don't need to be changed till about 50,000 as well as the transmission?

Winter is coming soon, what should be my focus? I don't have a lot of money to play with but I don't want to be behind on anything either.

The diff is every 15k, trans is every 30k, plugs are every 30k. Go by the service manual that came with the truck and not by your local mechanic.
