Question 03 Ram 1500 Hemi Loss of Power

This truck has extreme power loss, very rough idle to stall, strong gas smell. The plugs were fried, we have changed them 3 times resulting in more fried plugs. Some coil packs were bad, replaced those resulting in an additional coil going bad again. Replaced bad plug wires, replaced busted intake, cleaned valves, changed throttle body & catalytic converter. What else is left? It does run better but still really messed up! Has anyone else dealt with this? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Did you get a cheapo cat or a good cat and new 02 censors?

The gas smell and fouled plugs tell me you are running super rich. If there are no codes, You need to hook a scanner to your truck and find out which sensor is telling your computer to richen your A/F mixture so much. Could be a 02 sensor but those throw codes most the time. Id venture to guess maybe your air flow sensor isn't registering temps properly. However, there are a few other things it could be to, hard to tell w/o looking at it.

Default Last scan...

The last scan performed said there was an issue with the throttle body. We took it out and looked at it and decided it needed to be replaced. Next scan held no codes.
Then we found plug #4 gas soaked and another bad coil (#7) across from that.
Converter is currently removed (not by us). Both O2 sensors have been replaced. We spoke with a local that owns a muffler shop and he said that for all running purposes the converter being off should not do anything like this. With so many repairs we are trying to wait on puttting the converter back on until this other issue(s) is straightened out.
Volts meter ohm test showed 12.8 on injector, all other injectors read the same.

Default Truck is Idling!

We have an idling truck!! It appears to have possibly had an injector sticking, on top of all that other stuff that was messed up.

The converter being off won't cause any issues at all other than set a code because your rear 02 sensor isn't sensing anything. Yeah a sticking unjector will cause alot of your issues. Are you sure about all the other stuff being bad, Because it is pretty rare for that much stuff to go bad in a single sitting. Also, What happened to bust your intake?

You either have a stuck injector, a bad injector driver in the PCM (calling for it to be wide open all of the time) or possibly a problem with the MAP sensor. Sounds like one of the first two.

He figures the coil pack being bad caused it to pop back. The fella that bought it off the lot had never done more than oil change & brakes basically & it has over 170,000 miles plus being used as a work truck hauling heavy loads long distance. We checked the coils, found 2 bad, the plugs were definately scortched/ fuel soaked, the intake was definately cracked, and the throttle body was testing bad (pulling a code & testing by hand), wires were definately bad, but we don't think the O2 sensors were bad. On top of all that we found the fuse to the "pedal adjustment" blown. It's a mess. It is odd for so much to be wrong, it has made it very hard to diagnose with so many issues. It wasn't running so bad until it made a popping sound while driving, we assume that was the coil packs/intake. For the truck to run for 174,000 miles with no tune up, plugs or anything was a feat itself. Along with these other issues we have also noticed that the passenger side window doesn't roll down & the heater vents won't adjust. Really appreciate all the advice! We are expecting the injector in tommorow then we will see!
