Default Greasing U Joints?

I dont know if my 2002 2wd came with greasable u joints, I am guessing no. If this is the case, my u joints have been changed. There are greasable ones in there ATM, I just cant grease them.

Is there a special fitting to accomplish this. The fitting on my gun is the universial one, but it is straight and it is too tall, it hits the yoke when I try to lock it onto the zerk. Anyone else run into this?

i've ran into these on ATVs... and ended up buying an angled zerk attatchment, worked pretty slick. i think i got it from the local tractor supply. you tried rotating the u-joint to get a better angle right?

I can only rotate it round and round, which I tried. When I get to work I can try jacking the diff up to angle it but it is a lloooonnnnngggg shot. I will stop by AA or Oreillys and see if they might have something like that angled one. If anything I may just buy some more zerks and install angled zerks. Nah, I will wait until they have to be changed for that.

Okayyyyy, so a 90* dosent work. The front joint I can access with regular fitting. There are no rain clouds overhead so I can finally see decently. The back one appears to be installed backwards, not that I would be able to get to that one if it was installed correctly either. The front one will not take grease. It all comes out at the fitting as I am pumping. The ball in the zerk works too, swapped it out anyway and still wont take grease. I will just leave it be for the rest of it short life and buy some lifetime ones and make bank off of the replacements.

Interesting, They must of been changed like you said. Wish mine were greasable, I hate so called lifetime Non-greasable joints. Maybe if you got a picture it would help us to understand what your seeing.

When its time to change the joints out again, check out napa and their Premium line of u-joints. The premiums have the zerk screwed into the end cap, I have this on my front driveline. You pay more, but no more hassles with greasing. Changing out u-joints is a HUGE PIA---I totally hate it, found a better way not to have to do it as often :0)!

Gone Fishin, I will definately check Napa out for the ones you are talking about, that would make greasing easier all around. Sharkhunter, I tired quickly of rolling around under the truck knowing that I was pissing in the wind. I will let these wear out and have them changed witht the Napa ones (if possible), that way I can pump them slap full of Mystik JT-6 every time I change the oil. I also looked under my wifes F150, that SOB has 3 joints, no grease fittings. Gonna change those too, which ever truck goes out first, the other will be changed at that time too.
