Default Whistling sound from engine at 3000RPM

Hey guys just wondring what your opinions are about a whistling sound coming from my engine. It is a pretty loud and starts right at 30000RPM and above. I dont have cold air or a spacer or anything like that.Just wondering what it might be?

Thanks in advance

Is it a whistle or a whine? Does it only do it while driving or can you hear it while you are reving the truck in park?

This is the reason a vid is necessary. Just too bad another member had to set my standards for everyone... i won't reply to anyone from now on regarding a "noise" complaint unless they have a video of the issue.

If it makes my life difficult to help. i won't do it anymore.
If it makes my life easy to help because you've done your fair share.. i would be glad to help.
"Fair share" means reasearching first. If no solution is found and u went through all the proper steps including a short vid of the problem. then I'd be happy to assist.

If guys have time to post up multiple exhaust clips or headlight clips or whatever clips. taking time and posting up a short video clip of YOUR problem so OTHERS can help isn't asking too much. it's better than mis diagnosis or soemone calling a whine noise a whistle because there is a difference to the trained ear.

Soo, that's my deal from here on out. i ain't got time to be playing guessing games no mo.

Ya for sure, thats what I was gonna do but just havent got around to it. ill get a vid when Im back from my trip

and to answer your question it is high pitched whistle and it happens whenever I rev over 3000RPM even when just revving it in park. The mechanic thought it could be a alternator bearing but just put a new one in and hasnt solved the problem.

Well if it is a whistle and not a whine, then I would be checking vacuume lines, the brake booster and everything from the airfilter to the TB for any cracks. Usually, from past experiences, a whistle has to deal with airflow somewhere while a whine is more of a rotating/mechanical issue.

Beyond that though, without a sound clip, its just a guessing game.

I had one, very distinct, sounded just like "Sweet Georgia Brown", but then I discovered the Harlem Globetrotters had stowed away in the bed of my truck...

Seriously, the 'dog (however blunt and abrasive he may put it) is right. Impossible to even hazard a guess without hearing it...

You could try removing the belt and starting it up. If the sound goes away, you know it is in the accesory drive area of the engine.
