Thanks everyone, and my college's internet provider really does not like this website lol, couldn't really get on here since 12pm yesterday until right now without a problem. Thanks for the explainations on the tires lol . I'll start doing my research and look into these for the near future.

612 MILES!!! That's what I got out of my stock Goodyears. Second mod on my truck was a set of 33x12.5x17 Mickey Thompson MTX tires. Fit fine on the stock wheels, but MOD #3 was a set of Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels that came about 3 weeks later. Tire guy gave me $100 each for the stockers toward the Mickey's. I held onto the wheels for about six months before I sold them on ebay for $200 for the set.

As far as the BFG Long Trails, I had them on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 when I bought it. Great wear, nice and quiet. But forget about it off the pavement! Also I had a problem with the ply rating. In 3 years, I put 4 plugs in them, two whilst on pavement. The Nitto Terra Grapplers I replaced them with (and both sets on my truck, the Mickey MTXs and Cepek FCIIs) go the same places and I've not gotten a nail or screw that made it all the way thru the tread.

In a true all terrain tire, personally I'd go with a Nitto Terra Grappler or Toyo Open Country A/T. The Mickey Thompson ATZ is also a great tire with a long wear reputation, but tends to be a bit pricey. Deals can be found on the Nittos, the 265/65/17s (32x10.5x17) I put on my Grand Cherokee were $121.50 a tire.

Looks like I'm gonna go with the Terra Grappler, I want to get a thick size, maybe 295 or will even the 265's be good to go with?

Are you saying you want it taller or wider? Plug in your numbers here and see the differences between what you have and what you want http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...foTireMath.jsp

Sorry, I want to go taller on the tires, what are the stock goodyears? 265/70 R17? So I'll have to bring up the 70 right? I can probably leave the 265 alone unless I want it wider?

The stock tires are either 245 or 265/70r17. As you increase the width the overall tire diameter also goes up, so if you put in 265/70r17 and 285/70r17 into the link I posted you'll see the 285 is 1.1" taller 0.8" wider w/o changing the ratio. Just play around w/ that calculator until you find a height that you like, and then post here to make sure it won't rub or have any fitment issues.

Alright I used 265/70R17 as the stock number and moved it to 275/75R17

They are about 33.25", sidewall height increased by .82, width increased by .4, diameter by 1.63, circumference by 5.14 and revs/mile decreased by 31.36

I'm not looking for so much as a wide tire, the stock tires I have are wide enough but an inch wouldn't hurt, I'm looking to get some tires with just a little bit more meat on them, does this calculation sound right?

I don't believe they make Terra's in those dimensions . . .

I'd be going with the Terra's at 295/70R17's and from that site they're cheaper than shorter skinnier tires, probably due to lack of demand for them (http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....ShowLarge=True) when my goodyears go out on me (with other stuff added same time).

P.S.
They'd be 33" tall, right around the ball park you seem to be lookin for and you get a bit of a wider look too ^^

Also I love to use this site for tire comparisons http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Ok, I switched it up a bit, I used 265/70R17 as the stock and moved it to 295/75R17, I can get a bit bigger sidewall height out of that but here are the dimensions; Sidewall height = 8.71in (+1.41in), Section Width = 11.61in (+1.18in), Diameter = 34.42in (+2.81in), circumference = 108.14in (+8.85)...pushing 34's..maybee?

I did the 295/70R17 also (stock was 265/70R17 again); Sidewall height = 8.13in (+.83in), Section width = 11.61in (+1.18in), Diameter = 33.26in (+1.65in), Cricumference = 104.49inin (+5.2in)

Which one has a better chance here?
