Default 6.1 hemi camshaft

So I know that this has been talked about before but I cant find where right now. I was just wondering what benefits there would be to putting a 6.1 hemi camshaft into a 5.7hemi. And how hard is it to do your self. there is a guy selling one near me, and im just wondering if it is worth the 120 he is asking.

You might see some benefits if you have a light truck like a RC SB 2wd. Other than that, don't waste your money unless you are getting it to have a regrind done. The 6.1 cam is a top end cam which isn't of much benefit for these heavy trucks. There are a lot of better cams out there for almost any application, just depends on what you are looking for and what setup you have.

Yep, most guys I know who've put a 6.1 cam in has taken it out complaining of unacceptable low end torque losses. Great cam for a lighter car and as 'Teach says, maybe a 4x2 RC Ram.

Best choice for the lightly modded truck without spending a fortune is gonna be the Comp 260 or a few others along those lines, anything more aggressive and you need to be looking at LT headers, springs, retainers, custom tune, etc. Some of the really aggressive ones will require head work...

I was just getting ready to PM you about the springs to see if they got there yet. Guess that answers that question. I can't believe they are still not there.

Yeah, maybe today would be the day. Hopedfully they are not lost somewhere or sitting on someone elses porch.
