A LIFT, a really really long socket extention to unbolt the top bolts of the trans, impact gun, trans/engine jack....

If you do it on the floor be prepared to have it down for a weekend cause with all the bolts you have to get out and other things you have to unhook from the trans, its going to take a long time. I think it took us around the 6hr mark to get mine in on a lift (but that was also letting it cool down and doing the trans service as well).

Neither do I... Make some friends with some of the guys in your area, maybe one of them has a lift or put one in before that can lend a hand. Thats how I got mine in.

Lets see, you remove the drive shaft, unbolt the the trans, remove all electrical connections, put a jack under the trans to support it, remove the crossmember supporting the trans, back the trans straight back far enough to get to the converter, pull the converter off without spilling trans fluid everywhere, fill the new one with new trans fluid (not sure how much it takes but it'll be a bit), slide it on, and put everything back together.

On that note though, you should also get a larger trans cooler too. From what I have read and heard running a higher stall converter can make the trans run hotter that normal, with mine Im running the same temps as I did with the stock configuration.

but you said it'd be a biatch with 4wd. also, says the converter is for engines with 440 ft.lbs or more.
