Default A ? for guys running Pacesetter LT's

Well, my wife was nice enough to order me some Pacesetter LT's for Christmas. Now I got an email from Bob over at Moe's saying that the Pacesetter gaskets are junk. So the question is, does anyone run the pacesetter gaskets with their LT's and if so are you having any issues?

Go down to dodge and pick up some of the factory mopar gaskets and you'll be good. $28 for the set.

That was my plan if the Pacesetter gaskets are crap.

I never saw the pacesetter gaskets cause mine were a quick & cheap buy from craigslist and did not come with the gaskets so I cant help you there. But from what I have heard there really isn't a better gasket for the price than the ones from the dealer. $28 for a little added insurance in my opinion would be worth just getting them and not have to worry about the ones from pacesetter.

Also with the headers, we had a problem with the O2 hitting the heat sheild on the floor boards cause the bung was to high so just a fair warning before you get everything bolted down nice and tight. Also the spacer tap on the front passenger side will clear the headers just fine with it jacked up BUT when lowered it gouges into them so be prepared for trimming that piece too.

Thanks for the heads up on those two things. Got all my tools ready for the install, just have to wait until Christmas gets here. I get the feeling that these gaskets are going to be paper which means I am going to have to take a trip to the dealer.

I am using the Pacesetter cardboard ones. I installed on a Sunday and didn't have the patience to put off installation another week at the time. I've had NO issues to date, but if I had to do it over again, I'd put the Mopar gasket on. I've actually been waiting for mine to have an issue to give me an excuse to replace the gasket and go to the locking header bolts at the same time, but 3 years down the road, no problems, with either.
I just re-torque the bolts every 6k when I change the oil. Sometimes a couple take about 1/4 a turn, but that's about it.

The whole key is to install them bolts correctly the first time, I think. You torque them suckers, then get them as hot as they will get and (without burning the **** out yourself) re-torque 'em again while still hot...

Cardboard gaskets for headers, I can't believe that they have lasted that long for you. I guess I will just bite the bullet and order some Mopar gaskets.
