Default Superchip vs Diablo

I new to this forum, but I did some research and read both threads on the Superchips and Diablo chips, but wanted some opinions on what ya'll would recommend. I have a 08 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, 2wd, Auto with 5.7.

I wanted to get SC, but the more I read, it sounds like Diablo is the way to go. I want to plug and go. Features are too important right now. Not to mechanically inclined to start messing with shift points and TM. What are ya'll running and what do you think? Would you switch if you could?

Well the question you need to ask yourself is what do you plan on doing with your truck? Are you going to be adding a lot of major performance parts that you are going to need tuning for or are you planning on doing the basic upgrades (CAI, catback)?

Really the SC is best for someone that is not that into the tuning aspect of things. You do not have to mess with the trans settings on either of them if you dont want to and if that is the case go with the SC. I have the diablo and love it but I am planning some fairly involved mods here soon that I can benefit from having the tuning capabilities of the diablo over the SC.

You're wasting your time with this thread. Nothing will be said on here that hasnt been said in the two stickys about the products. Either one is good. I'm more a fan of SC than diablo, but for no better reason than someone would be a fan of diablo over SC.

question for the diablo lovers. Have you used SC? your opinions (as well as mine) are invalid unless you've used both

I have used the old SC, dumped it went DSP. DSP was alot better tune and I could get custom tunes made when I did stuff like cam.

However the new features showing up on the new SC's look promising.

However, The custom tune ability is something SC will NEVER do, And probibility that DSP will match the new features is high.

The one thing that really burned my bridge with SC is that they left all there old tuners in the dust. They won't get the new upgrade abilities due to Memory issues. So all those people who spent $200 to $300 on the old SC not even realizing that they would have to buy another one are SCrewed.

Really it is up to your judgement though. There are literally 100's of thread on this exact same discussion.

I have had both the DSP as well as the SC. Got to say that for me, the SC is the hands down winner. I couldn't live without trans control and the only tuner that gives that to me is the SC. Now if the DSP does have trans control for your year it is a much closer race.

I guess it comes down to what you are looking for out of a tuner. As far as the canned tunes, they are about the same. Nothing there to make you go for one over the other. If you plan on doing custom tuning and the DSP supports your trans then go with the DSP. If you are just going to do bolt on's, then go with SC. The new trans controls that SC is going to release are awesome (I am currently running the beta version).
