Default Q's about 4 wheel drive

I have a 2006 1500 slt 4x4. It has 65,000 k on it. I have owned it a few months. Recently I have noticed when put into 4 wheel drive it handles almost as if parking brake is on or something. Straight driving is fine, but pulling into a parking lot or any turning at lower speeds and it feels like it is skipping or something??? any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm...I dont have a 4WD But I think when it is engaged it might make the turning a little harder and ride a little rougher...but I'm not sure, someone will chime in soon

Never had a problem with mine. It accelerates slower which is expected but that's it.

yes, this is normal. Mine does it also. Most 4x4s do.

That's normal, it's caused by the fact that your front tires spin faster than your rear tires when turning, but when in 4WD the front and rear spin more or less the same, so it's fine for straight line driving but as soon as you turn sharply your rear tires are pushing/plowing and that's causing your shuddering. It's also a good rule to avoid using 4WD on dry pavement.

^^ I was just gonna say never use 4x4 on dry land only in the snow or offroad, because even in the snow it makes it harder to turn.

+2 on the "don't use 4x4 when you really don't need it"

On a solid axle 4x4 or a c v type front axle, its all normal, all 4 drive wheels are turinng =, when turning left or right, all drive wheels are still driving = but one inside front and one inside rear wheel is turning quicker, Than the out side drive wheel's.
