Default Just Ordered......

My Street Edge Hemiverter Torque converter. I cant wait to get it here and start installing it. I am pretty confident in my ability to install it after all the research ive done, but any pointers from you guys who have done it already are welcome.

Also, any of you guys who live down in SoCal want to come down and check out/help on the install process, or take pics for my write up shoot me a PM. I would be more than happy to have you.

And lastly, truck should be going into the shop next week for gears. that is dependent on whether the mechanic gets the gears in that soon or not. and a comp cams 260 with 6.1 springs and rods will also be ordered VERY soon. and i expect to have about 3 weeks off work starting mid jan to try my hand at installing that.

ok, you can now commence being jealous.

Shouldn't be too bad of a job.. hope you have a tranny jack to help ya out.. I've only changed a converter on an old 727 tranny... If I was in your area i'd stop over for sure. Good luck man. What kinda gears are you gettin in it? Sounds like you'll have quite a good running truck soon! gotta put up some videos!

and yes- I am jealous.

yes, i have the 3.73s now. they are a dog on the low end. but i can go 80mph and only turn 2000rpms on the hwy. i was planning on going 4.10s at first, then after reading around and seeing that 4.56 would only be a couple hundred rpm difference at speed, i changed my mind.

Yea, I got the 3.73's as well. sure are a dog on the low end i'll give you that! I don't really mind them unless I am towing. I wish I had the 4.10's when i have a overweight load behind me... Ive read a lot about the 4.56's on here and to be honest thats a hell of a lot of gear to be running unless youre towing constantly; at least for me. Just a little too revy for me.. But I do a lot of highway driving.. so i'm not sure if id enjoy reving that high on the highway.

Sounds like you'll have a pullin machine though!
I like how the level looks on your truck. I've been talking about taking my body lift off and just leveling her out like yours.

you gotta keep in mind though, that the auto trannys are geared a lot differently than the manuals. 4.56 would probably be way too much for a manual, but on an auto, they work out real nice. im sure one of the few hundred guys on here who run them will chime in any time now.

yeah, this is true... I'd really like to drive a ram with 4.56's and see the results. I bet they pull pretty hard.

congrats on the new purchase... er... purchases. a torque converter is tward the top of my list, so make sure you take plenty of pictures and do a writeup. also, you should go for a drive, and take a video of the tach and speedo before you get the tc, and one after... i would really like to see the comparison...
lucky bastard...
