Default Front wheel bearing??? You be the judge

So it's been a long a painfull/expensive process in my truck slowly falling apart. Not that it's bad stuff but stuff is just getting old and worn. 03 going on 73,000. Started with an inspection. That inspection led to outter tie rod end on the passenger side and rear breaks/rotors. I did the work and brought her in for an alignment. Before they did anything they looked at my front end (free check up AKA spot the slightest chit wrong and charge him) and they said my outter tie rod end on my drive side and and lower ball joints are going. By this time i'm kinda getting pissed off. I hold off on the alignment cause i need one again after more work and 300 later i got my ball joints and tie rod end done. While doing my ball joints i notice NO PLAY WHATSOEVER in them. I also notice that my tie rod end seems to be fine with no play only everything being original and not looking all that great cosmetically. I already got the parts, i'm already at my buddys shop so i just do it all anyway and get it over with while i havethe help. I bring her in yesterday and they do an alignment. NOW they come out telling me my driver side wheel bearing is toast! I'm like wtf i can't win! I take my truck home cause i gotta get to work and i'm not hearing any humming coming from my front end. I really don't know any way to determine the wheel bearing other then the humming noise it made in my previous vehicle(s). I'm coming home from work today and switching lanes i notice a thumping noise on my driver side. I can feel in through the floor even and it's only while turning left. I hear it again while turning into my driveway and here i am now typing this. I wiggled my wheel (not on a jack) with no play side to side nor top/bottom.

TLDR: Told i need driver side wheel bearing. Not completly sure about it seeing the shop looks more money hungry then honest. Switching lanes i feel a slight thud/thumping noise from the driver side. Pulling in my driveway i feel/hear the noise.

Any suggestions? Sound about right? And our/my truck is equiped with ABS correct? There are a few options for wheel bearings at autozone. How do i determine what i have?

your truck should def have ABS standard, im guessing its not a 4x4, but yeah put er up on a jack and spin the wheel, grinding nastyness sound would be the bearing...not sure about thumping...uless its really bad...

I do have a 4x4. I'll have to get her up on a jack. It's not the worst thump but definatly noticable. Can't really hear any grinding/humming cause i have a flowmaster on my truck lol. I'll check it out in a few

Yeah i love my truck. I've takin her to the track a couple time and had a lot of fun. I give the 4 bangers around my area a run for their money. All in all i'd probably pick up another 4.7RCSB when on the market for a truck in a couple years

Mine roared like a noisy ring and pinion. You could hear/ feel it when jacked up and spinning the wheel.

My 08 only has rear ABS, none on the front.

My 06 has rear ABS only and it currently does not work apparently. It is going in on Thrusday for the ABS and front drivers wheel bearing (hub assembly) I jacked mine up and spun the pass side and nothing, then spun drivers side and could hear humming type noise. Its not very loud, but its defenitly noticeable compared to the other side!

Good deal, mine was the passenger side with only 19K miles on it.
