Default car audio experts, got a quick question

i know theres an audio section but i hear its slow so i thought id post in here...

i have 2 JL 10w3s 2ohms and im trying to bench test them to see if theyre still good. theyre dual voice coil so theres 2 connections on each side, i dont have a multimeter so i did the old 9v battery test. on one side it worked but on the other side nothing...i tried the next sub and the same thing. both worked on the same side though so i wasnt sure if it was normal. i wired one up in series and nothing but when i ran it parallel it worked but maybe thats because only one side works anyways....whats the deal yo?

Seriously RH?

You did read the first sentence, right?

Maybe check google? Or a local audio store?

I don't know the battery test? I use a Digital multi-meter and test the voice coils individually. You can buy a cheap digi multi-meter for like $15 at Walmart or AdvanceAuto...etc

It wouldn't be slow in the audio section if people would use it instead of the tech forums

I have used AAs and 9v's to pop the coil. Not the best thing to do but it works. However, using a meter as Dogs suggested will allow you to compare the readings of one coil to the next.
