Default recon white lightning led strip???

i just finished installing the white lightning tailgate led stip. I used the 4 prong trailer connector to hook it up. every thing works (running lights, brake lights, turn signals) except the white reverse led lights. There is a white wire coming off the led strip that i think is for hard wiring. I thought you could just use the trailer light connector for all the applications. Am i wrong? if i need to hard wire, how to i do so?

thanks

You need to hard wire the reverse light.

I've had no experience with hardwiring things but from what i've read just tap it into the reverse light coming from the tail light. So all you have to do is find out the right wire to tap it into and I'm sure its the one connecting to the reverse bulb. But I'm not sure how hard it is to do. Good Luck and get some pics up when your finished.

use the quick connect splice that you put both wires in and squeeze with pliers. you may need a tester to make sure you have the hot wire going to your back up light. post pics

Its really easy, what i did with mine was put my parking brake on and put the truck in reverse. Then i just touched part of the wire to each connection on the tail light plug. Once i found which one it was I just quick spliced into that. My light bar has the turn signals that chase each other so after it was all wired up I unplugged the trailer harness part and left it unplugged for a little bit and once it plugged back in it relearned the chase speed. But if your bar doesnt chase like that there is no need. Realy easy though.

It is the white wire with the green stripe coming straight from the harness in ur taillight, I used a heat shrink butt connector cause they won't corrode as easily as a scotch lock, aka the 2 wire to 1 wire jig
