Default Correct/Recommended method for leveling 04 QC 4x4

I've searched and seem to find different methods/options for leveling. I'd like to know the CORRECT way to level my 04 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4? Not what I can get by with or whatever, but the right or recommended way to do it. What do I have to buy? Where is the best place to get it? And what would I have to pay someone to do to either put it on or to get things adjusted correctly after putting it on?

Hammer, thanks, but again - options. Let's assume I want a leveling "kit". What do I look for and where? And what is needed to install? I assume the truck needs to be lifted off the ground - then what? Does the front end need re-alignment? Does anything else need to be adjusted?

the CORRECT way is to not do it at all . the truck is made to have a nose div look . if it were CORRECT to level it it would have came leveled.
now if you want to level it you wont find a CORRECT way to do it only the aftermarket way of doing it CORECTLEY .

confused yet ?

2 ways you figure out if they are the correct way lost of members do it these ways..
first crank the factory t-bars ....lift the front end so the tires are off the ground. then find your bolts . crank them eagual to height . recomending longer shocks or new brackets.

2nd .. new keys and shocks. repeate step one buy you are replacing the factory keys with aftermarkrt that will level it for you .

both 1st and 2nd requier a alingment .

I don't know that there is one "RIGHT" way. If you were to ask ANY dealership, they'd tell you about how bad it is for the truck and how it will void your warranty. You have a torsion bar front end. ANY method to level the front without replacing a good many front end components, THAT A SUSPENSION LIFT DOES, will put tension on the torsion bars and stiffen the front end up considerably.

I gave you the link so you could read about a simple, free crank vs. replacing your keys. Many swear by one method, and it's free. Many swear by the keys. Many undo both because of the stiffness and loss of driveability.

So if you are gonna pin me down for THE BEST WAY, I guess IMO, a suspension lift is the best way, and one that uses replacement leafs in the rear as opposed to blocks.

Cost is gonna be about $2200 for a good kit ad probably about a grand for the install.

ANY change to the suspension requires an alignment...

I should have expected to only get what I found already and that is that the ways to do it are like a-holes - everyone has 1 but no 2 are alike.

Ramhunter, I stand corrected, I should have worked it as you said - the aftermarket way of doing it correctly. Still, there is no consensus.

I love the way my truck rides, that's what sold me on it. I probably shouldn't mess with it. At the time I bought it, my dad had a new F-150 that was his company truck and he had an almost brand new Silverado. I drove both of them and then drive the, then new, 04 Ram that I own now. Night and Day and it has been good to me. Thanks for the responses. I should leave well enough alone.

I just put a 2" LEVELING KIT ON MY 2008 ram 2500. IT WAS STRAIGHT FORWARD. JACKED THE FRONT END UP AND PUT IT ON JACK STANDS. LOWERED THE FRONT AXEL BACK DOWN AND REMOVED THE FRONT SHOCKS AND SHOCK TOWERS. PULLED THE COIL SPRINGS OUT AND PUT THE SPACERS IN. HAD TO THEN COMPRESS THE COIL SPRINGS TO REINSTALL THEM. THE 2" LEVELING KIT WAS $60.00 ON EBAY.

I cranked up my torsion bars on my 03 1500 4x4 QC and got about 2". It put me perfectly level...looks great! The ride up front got a bit tougher...but not that bad at all! The only time I really notice it at all is if I hit a big pot hole or rough rode...but as far as normal, everyday driving, it feels as good as it did before I cranked! And the best part...it was FREE!!!
