Default Pulled off rear diff. cover and found

Nothing laying in the bottom of my diff. It's a 2003 with 70,000 miles. The first time I changed diff. fluid I just pumped the old fluid out, so after reading so many posts on here I figured I'll pull the cover off to get the clutch pack clip out of there. And I was extremely surprised to find it still intact. But before I did my truck, my buddy and I took the cover off of his 2002 with only 46,000 miles and found the clip in three pieces laying on the magnet, but has caused no damage to his gears so we buttoned his back up and he's leaving it that way.

my 04 has over 130,000 miles and I've never had a problem with the retainer clips. Hopefully it will stay that way for awhile since I don't have the money to swap gears/lsd yet.

My 04 had broken clips at 60k and after the dealer didnt want to do anything about it other then flush it out and change the oil (original oil was pure silver) I replaced it with an Auburn LSD.

I probably should change the oil and look. I'm approaching 192,000 miles on my 05. So far it's never given any indication that something loose or broke.

Remember guys, this is a factory LSD issue, if you have an open differential you will have no clips to break...

It sounds like this issue is hit or miss, it breaks on some trucks and does'nt on others which leads me to believe what I read on a thread once that said. If you drive it like you stole it all the time, racing, or hard throttle starts there's a good chance it's broken. Don't get me wrong I get on my truck once in a while but don't beat it. We pay too much for these trucks to beat them.
