I currently have a 31 foot travel trailer. The GVWR of the trailer is 7700 lbs and am not sure if my truck can handle the tongue weight. I have a 2004 1500 5.7 liter hemi quad cab. When I attach the trailer the bed drops pretty low. It seems to pull okay, except on steep terrain where it struggles a little bit.

depending on what type of hitch you have i think its 700 pounds toung weight, if you dont like how your rear end sags. get some helper springs or like smk said get some ride right air bags and you can level it out with those

Pulling a trailer with that type of length regardless of weight....I would highly recomend a weight distributing hitch as it will not only help the sagging rear, but your truck/trailer will remain completely stable when going over bumps or dippy doos in the road. the whole vehicle and trailer will bounce rather than the rear bumper of the truck. Having everything flow or bounce at the same time will eliminate the front end bounce into the sky. That length creates lots of leverage when hitting bumps.
Airbags will def help even in conjunction with a WDH, but i would not tow a trailer that length without one. I would reccomend....highly reccomend getting a sway controller too if the WDH does not have one built in due to the length and overall size fo the trailer. Have a tractor trailer go by you on the highway and you may get some terrible sway action going on???

i pulled an 8000 lb twin axle cargo trailer back in august with only a weight distribution hitch. if its dialed in correctly, it wont sag much at all. In my opinion a WDH should be your first move. if you tow alot, get some bags too, but never tow that much without a WDH
I am all about the WDH. I use one on my 20ft car trailer and it makes a big difference!!
Doesn't squat bad loaded. I could tighten it up another link, but you need enough tongue weight to keep it stable.
