Default lifter noise

HI, i have a problem with my 06 ram. I noticed a small ticking when the engine was cold , but now the winter is here it sounds more like a lifter starting to fail. It starts off loud and gradually gets softer and goes away. ram has 47,000 miles on it , any suggestions
thanks

It may be the MDS system if you have the Hemi. I will move this to the third generation Ram section,

Is it a Hemi? Might be the dreaded hemi tick.

Yeh i understand stand the Hemi Tick but sounds like the lifter is partially collasped and the tick goes away as the engine oil starts to get pumpwd through the engine

Could be a sticking lifter. What oil do you use?

Just to rule it out, check for an exhaust leak between the manifolds and the heads. Often if a manifold stud breaks, it will cause an exhaust leak that will seal itself up when the manifolds heat up. They often can tick just like a lifter.

Mine does the same thing. Has since 400 miles. it's the valves and has to do with the "hemi tick". if I rev the engine over 1200rpms the tick goes away and will stay away for 20-30sec and faintly start to come back. Does yours do this?
Cold will amplify the situation.

Sometimes the loud ticking is their for 23-30 sec. and other times 2-3 sec, or not at all,
