Heater blows hot for 6 seconds???
New to the forum and dodge trucks just always been a jeep guy till now. Well just bought the truck 2 days ago and have a heater prob. Im waiting for the truck to warm up then i turn the heat on with it all the way to hot. the problem is that it blows hot for about 6 to 10 seconds and then blows cool.
any ideas?

coolant level is fine just at the line.
the guy at autozone said something to me about a blend door? could this idea fit in my problem?
should i just shell out the 10 bucks for a t-stat and try that first?
i really just wana do this myself instead of taking it to someone and them handing me a big bill

i had a similar problem, try flushing your heater core. fixed mine completly.

ummm.....this may sound stupid and if it is then id rather be stupid for asking than not asking. Ive never seen orange coolant before. I had a couple of bottles of 50/50 mix lying in the garage but its green. Is there a special coolant for this truck or something? didnt wana mix it so im gona hold off till i know what kind to buy.
