Default Trouble with DS predator

Tried a search but didnt come up with much. Wondering if you guys can help...im a parts guy at a dodge dealer here and i just ordered in a U7137 to be loaded into a 09 ram with the 5.7. Its advertised as compatible with 03 to 09 hemis however when i went out to load it up for the customer it said something about a update and it gave the part number for the PCM in that truck...what??? I assume some sort of a update is needed...? Anyway im gonna call up my supplier and then diablo for info but im wondering if you guys have any info to share on this...

Second, my supplier said the U7137 comes with a 87 octane safe tune...can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

yes to the 87 tune.

Diablo plays a little trick on you with pricing. They offer a lower price by not including the usb and power cables necessary to update the unit. Of course, the unit immediately needs an update when you buy it. It's a pretty chicken**** sneaky thing to do, in my opinion.

For the update you need to go to the diablo site and download the update for it. Then reload it on the truck and you should be fine. I am not sure about the 09's but the earlier models have an 87, 91 and 93 tune. To be honest with you though I have found the 91 tune to have the best overall performance and mileage.

For the cables you can pick them up fairly cheap at radio shack thats what I did for mine.

hope that helps a little

Am I reading this correctly, a dodge dealership ordered a programmer for a customers truck? That's awesome! Does dodge know?

If it still doesn't work after the update you are probably going to have to post up on the diablo forum.

Some PCM's require an update before they can be tuned, it's not the Predator needing the update. This update is download-able from www.diablosport.com
