Many shop made H and x pipes are crap.

Cyclone, the only restrictive part of the factory Y-pipe is the actual Y at the end where it goes from 2 to i pipe. No need to replace the whole assembly, just cut it off anywhere behind the rear O2 sensors for true duals or cut out the Y at the end and install the Magnaflow Y and run the stock 3" pipe back to a good cat-back system.

when my y pipe got cut out, thier was a 02 sensor from the factery that was removed, I was thier, when the new pipe was welded in for a true dual set up, the 02 senor had to be re taped into the welded pipe, just for kicks I will take some pics.

if it matters the 2500 hemi factery ex sytem is close to a 1500 hemi, but not identical.

they must not be the same cuz the sensors are not even close to the y pipe there right after the cat on mine like 2-3" from it

Question

More of another question than a reply. I'm not doubting the benefits of a nice Y-Pipe like the MagnaFlow; if nothing else it looks a hell of a lot better but if it is installed on a stock Hemi with only the resonator removed and an aftermarket free-flow muffler what are the actual gains? Any real dyno information out there? Hp? Torque curve? MPG? Top end MPH?
I realize there are numerous variables in all of these questions but I'm just interested in close and accurate estimations. Thanks!

they have dynos here where i live but i dont wanna spend 80 bucks for 3 runs then 80 more after they add the exhast cuz the place that told me $450 just to put the muffler on is the shop #1 and the other is shop #2 so i dont think there going to give me a lower price since they are the same shops but diffrent ppl
