Default Automtic Trans. Shifter

Hey Guys,

Just recently I've been noticing the amount of play/movement that my shifter has while in gear which is fairly significant. Is this common? '08 1500 4x4

It shouldn't be loose at all, the shifter should basically lock into place once you put it in gear. Is it stayin in the same gear when you move it? If it is you prolly just need to tighten it up.

O btw welcome to the forums, too bad you had to have a problem before ya came to see us though.

Idk how easy it will be as I have never heard of this before, but if I'm not mistaken the shifter uses a cable to shift gears and you could prolly tighten up the cable. I would take it to a shop or the stealership if I were you just so you don't get it too loose or too tight and have it shifting into the wrong gear or something.
