yea my tires have this a little. If you are looking at the tire, some of the outside "lugs" are almost dented in. I would take a pic but its dark. Not worn, but just sunk in? I have the shake and the 70mph wobble too

My truck shakes at any highway speed, enough for my flip out to wobble

dedogg - I have not gotten new tires just yet, bought the truck with 40,000 miles and there is some decent tread left (minus the cupped BS). I am currently checking the forum to see what tire seems to perform best. You went with the zeons; did you stay with stock size? Mine are the 275/60-20 and I was thinking of jumping up a size and dropping a leveling kit on? I think that I can go up to the 325/60 with no leveling kit.

Again this is my first Ram so any suggestions would be great! Gotta love these forums!

YOU Matt99 have a wobble due to your front level kit.

Cupping is Alignment. Whether something is worn out or bad, it is causing your aligment to change. I'd say it's your struts that are bad as previously mentioned which causes supping and also for your alignment to alter.

You should have a reputable shop look over your front suspension and make sure your tuts aren't leaking or of culprit. You will need a new alignment with new struts anyways. Def worth it over shelling out more cash for more tires.
Nip it in the butt before your new tires get worse. The longer you wait, the more likely you will need to buy new tires. not good to run cupped or won out tires on a fresh alignment as the alignment will be off due to being set-up on oddly worn tires.

^^^lmao^^^

Dirty not saying you are incorrect but I was told by Firestone the reason for the cupping was because I was taking corners too fast and the stock tires were $hit. Since I have put the new tires on I have not changed my driving style (drive it like you stole it) and no cupping yet. The cupping I had came within a couple of months of me owning the truck and I bought it with only 6 miles miles on it. I had the front end inspected and they said everything was OTAY.

Just what I was told.

Mine are cupping. Of course the dealer blames the Goodyear tires. Weak shocks and tow-in cause the cupping. Seems to be a common problem on most rack and pinion front suspensions.
If you feel a dragging, it is either a hub bearing or a warped brake rotor.

I drive mine like a Viper, must be why mine cupped dedogg

Default 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Sunbrust Orange

I bought my dodge new in 2008, got 18000miles front diff burnt out, just got that replaced and had it a week and had the rac replaced, had it back an hour and had the stabilizer bushings replaced as well as a front axle seal, got another 18000miles on it and had to replace another rac. At 55000miles had both front hubs replaced, and inbetween all this i have but 4 sets of tires on, which all four have cupped each time i have had to change it. I have had rear end seals replaced along with steering columns etc. I have 60 work orders the truck has spent more time in the shop, and they are telling me there is nothing wrong with the truck, so why all the parts?

My tires show cupping to. I'm thinking the cause of this is the heavy stock 20 inch wheels with weak shocks. My guess is that the wheel is bouncing down the road because the shock is weak. Im thinking of changing out my shocks to see if it helps.
