what is the name of this part?
The conector between the output shaft on the transfer case and the front driveshaft?
And is there rebuild kits available for them?

Definetly not a u-joint. I don't have a camera for pics.
This is at the back portion of the front driveshaft. The front of the driveshaft connects to the front diferential with a u-joint but the back end goes into a housing with gears and conects to the output shaft on the transfer case.
Symptoms?...well basicaly the gears in this housing grenaded and I had to pull the front driveshaft in order to drive the truck without constant grinding.
I've highlighted the part I need the info on:

don't think it's a carrier bearing, usualy they are mounted to a crossmember or something are they not?
Inside the housing looks like this pic:

The center gear is attached to the front driveshaft, the surounding gear is the one that blew on me. Mine also didn't have any ***** in it which seemed kind of odd. This image came up on google after searching for "lobro", so that must be a name for it but I can't find any info for a ram, which makes me think it's called something else.

Dodge service manual just calls it a CV joint
But I have this same issue, it started out as a slight metallic grind and then turned into a constant clicking in about a week. Took awhile for me to narrow it down to this part as I figured it was my front cv's or wheel bearings. Boot was torn so I took the front shaft off and sure enough the noise was gone... Hopefully a new one doesnt cost an arm and a leg and make me wish it was a front cv.
