I have a 2002 Quad Cab 4.7L and my best 1/8 mile pass is 9.91@71MPH and in the 1/4 15.56@88MPH with 1/2 tank. Thats not bad for a 4.7L with an aditude all natural asperated.

did i hear someone say that they got a better ET, a faster ET, because of a better reaction time?

not true....you could sit at the tree with a green light for an hour..and then launch, and your ET would not reflect it because ET begins when RT ends. by his logic, if you launched as soon as the autostart engaged youd run 12s...

i see this misconception alot...

LOL... everyone has to learn sometime.... Im sure at one time in your racing career you too thought that....LOL..

In Drag racing your infact in three races at the same time. Your trying to race to have the qickest R/T, your racing to get to the end quicker then the guy next to you and your even trying to come as cose as possible to your dial in.

That's not a bad time at all. If you get a chance please add it to the drag time database linked above in post #25. Thanks.

hey guys,

just an fyi. truck is fast, less drag with tail gate up...yep UP! motor trend did an article (on last page) within the last year and they tested for drag and mpg in a tunnel. Having a hard or soft cover was the best (about + 1 mpg) no cover and tail gate up was Better then tail gate off or down. And funny thing is the worst was one of those net things on instead of a tail gate.

Now this article was geared (pun intended) towards mpg but drag and speed go hand in hand. Now does the less weight over come the slightly worse drag of the tail gate off? dunno. but tail gat down is slower. though it was an interesting article. its on the last page or the back cover... I keep all mine an can fine if you cant.

That's good info. Do you know if there's a link that can be posted? Thanks.
