No ETs yet and bone stock. I just want to beat some rice @ the track, and my buddies SS blazer, but it does not look good. He went 14 flat stock. Both of us have over 80 passes at the track in our cars and the auto thing is going to be fun.

What short times you guys pulling????

your gonna need nitrous or engine internals, my srt runs 14.1s all day very stock.

 

Is everyone in here using Tow/Haul just leaving the truck in drive,
you've gotta shift in the auto the Hemi doesn't get power to way past where the automatic wants to shift
so you gotta start in first launch of the break then shift maunally to second then third.

 

Ok got out to the track in fayetteville today. Made 6 or 7 passes. First impresions:

Truck is very easy to spin on the launch. I tried warming them up, one spin in the box, foreword then nice burn out... spins. I tried lowering the presure a bit, and less of a launch and it seems like the truck wanted to power brake to about 2k, then a release then firm WOT, not a stab.

It ran 87 @ the 1/4 trap all day no matter what, and around 71 no matter how bad I spun the launch.

I oulled the gate to save some tonage... no delta at all same 87 MPH. Still had the spare up there so maybe between the two both coming off it would help.

Last pass, I ran a kid in a 02 or 03 rustang GT rag top. He was all ready in his flip flops and baggies... I treed him by a .1, had him by .1 @ the 1/8 and he did come by on top by a few MPH but I was on his bumper. Still it was funny as hell. Best pass follows:

Mods are.... mobil 1 5 w 20, and a mobil 1 oil filter. This pass was with the tail gate on, little over 1/4 tank, maybe closer to 1/3 as I went out with 1/2. I left it in D, no haul and a bud took it for a run, and sugeted I shift in manualy but I had not done it in the truck soooooo I did not try.

Bluff, tons of fun for a big truck, but I need more. I have an aero 3030 muffler on the way and am trying to buy a superchips here in NC. I have 3 sets of DRs mounted on GM wheels and I need to get some race rims for this. I am sure it would do a 1.8 with some drs. I saw a 15.25 by someone and I wanted to top that, but all in all, for my forst passes in the truck, I am happy. Thanks!!!

14.77 @ 92 with superchips. im going back to HRP (baytown) to see what it runs with the LT's and cutouts. hoping to dip into the 13's N/A. then after that i'll get the 6.1 cam installed adn the nitrous. then ya'll can all see the time slip to my 12 sec. hemi. if anyone around the houston area is interested i think i'll be heading down there the friday after next.

 

Good luck hitting 13's with just a superchip, LT's and cutouts. With the 6.1L cam you might. And going to need atleast a 75shot of nitrous hit the high 12's. Should get the 218cam from krcperformance will give you much more HP then the 6.1 cam will and its only $350.

 

ok, something must be wrong with my truck. sure its an overweight 4x4 with the hardest(but very well mainainted) 50,000 miles most trucks see, but its still a HEMI with AEM intake, Flowmaster true dual cat-back, and hypertech. im hittin a 16.2 on the G-tech at like 84 MPH. i know gtechs arent very accurate, but it should be within 2 tenths of a second. any suggestions to get this sub 16 where i belong?

 

the GTech is not a reliable source of ETs.

 

i know this. but a half a secong difference in times still startles me. i used gtech on all runs. average a month ago was 15.7 average now, 16.2 if it was 15.7 on the track and 16.2 on the gtech, i wouldnt care.
but regardless on how i timed it. what could be causing it?

 

i think i can get into the 13's without the cam...i'll be using 17's with my superchips, LT's and cutouts installed, so all that rotating mass weight reduction will help alot. plus that 14.7 i ran was with my bed cover, heavy 20's, and my entire bed was full of a bunch of crap and ice chests full of drinks. so just the weight reduction and 17's along with the LT's and cutouts should be able to drop me 7 tenths...its a longshot but i know it'll happen.
