Default ran out of gas?

allright guys i need help fast on this one, the truck ran out of gas at the pump (yeah i kno) so i filled er up and now it wont start, i primed it a few times with the key kinda started, i pulled the pcm fuse and reset it, nogo, it only runs when i hold the gas pedal, and when its running sounds like its only running on 4 cyl maybe 5, i pulled the plug on the throttle body to see if it was a bad sensor on the pedal?? but still wont idle...havnt a clue what could have happened besides crap in the injectors, im running some sea foam through it now, any other ideas tho? what about pulling them? how hard would that be? (havnt even looked) is the filter in the tank serviceable? i bealive thats the only one it has, thanks guys

UPDATE: pulled the tank, n the pump cleaned everything up and still nadda, i took a vid with my phone to maybe help you guys understand....the sound quality sucks but you can still hear it missing, and at the end was me letting off the gas, and it dieing, also had to hold the pedal down to start it too

GOT IT FIXED!!!!!! turns out it was a broken valve spring on the intake side? i took it to dodge to have them run diagnostics on it, pcm said nothing but he had a hunch so 370 bucks latter they replaced the valve spring and she runs good as new, they were also impressed by the intake and coil wire conversions lol said it idles much better than most hemis they got

I'd say you sucked up a bunch of air in your fuel lines, I don't know if idling it would clear out the air or not? If I were you I would slightly hold the gas just enough to keep it running for a while and see if it gets any better.

you might have fried the pump... the gas is what keeps them cool...
or you may have a clogged filter...
did you try stomping on it a few times when it is running so she really pulls some fuel?

Tuning out of gas isn't going to fry your pump or plug your filter.

Were you gunning in gear or in park? Don't gun it in park anymore. That's stupid. Take it out on the highway and get on it a bit.

I havent looked into how the fuel system works on these trucks but thats a posibility, I blew my HP pump on my ford from running out of gas once and what cheapbeater said is the EXACT same as my dads mechanic buddy told me after I told him I ran it outta gas..

allright, but i thought that fuel pumps dont kinda work they do or they dont....im dropping the tank right now, any tips on how to take off the fuel fill hoses? they aint moving at the moment, and i guess the only way to test the pump would be to see how much pressure is comin out of it?

No you will get a pump that will work on and off, mine would start fine and id drive around and then all of a sudden it would just die for no reason, then it wouldnt start so id leave it on the side of the road and go back a day later and itd start up and drive home fine, then later that day, die on me again.. There should be a schrader valve on your motor on the fuel rail somewhere and you can buy a pressure tester to check it for relatively cheap, I dont know what the output is though you will have to find that on the net or in a haynes manual somehere.. I just hooked the tester up and closed the hood with the tester on the windshield on the outside and drove around watching the pressure.. and to get the fuel lines off its most likely the funny little push connectors where you use the plastic pieces to disconnect them.
